BRNST's Massage Diploma Course will educate you on the practice and benefits of massage. You will learn practical, hands-on massage therapy from the patient and the therapist's perspectives, how to work with the body's chi, acupressure massage, aromatherapy massage, and the desired qualities of a first-class massage therapist.

The Raynor Therapeutic Massage Diploma

Our ten-day Massage Diploma course combines the first five days of the Massage Certificate program with five more exceptional, information-packed days. This course may be taken over a two-week period, or the first five days of the Certificate program can be completed first and the remaining five days completed at some time in the future.

Days 1 Through 5:
Massage Therapy Techniques:
Working toward the release of all tension in the body's muscles and opening the channels or meridians through which the Chi (Life Force) flows.

For a full description of the first five days of this course, see the Massage Certificate Course information.
Day 6:
Role-Playing Client-Therapist Massage Class

Day six involves role-playing of the practitioner / client massage interaction. Students will take a case history and perform a full therapeutic massage according to the client's needs within a certain length of time.
There will be a discussion period after the role-playing where any areas needing improvement will be highlighted. This will give the students an idea of where they need to focus on in the remaining four days of the course.

Day 7:
Massage Therapy Training Using Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy oils will be introduced on day seven. The teacher will cover the use of eight to ten commonly used aromatherapy oils, how to determine which are suitable for particular clients, and their contraindications . You will then look at and practice their use with both deep tissue and lighter massage.

Day 8:
Reflexology in Massage Therapy Training

Day eight of the Diploma Course will emphasize the reflexology areas of the feet and the hands. You will explore the importance of how the feet and hands affect and benefit the whole massage treatment.

The instructor will also discuss the zone theory of reflexology and the use of reflexology charts.

Day 9:
Acupressure Massage for the Head and Neck

Face and scalp massage will be the focus of day nine. Discover acupressure points in the head to help alleviate stress, tension, headaches, and neck problems. You will be shown how to release tension in the head and the effect this has in relieving the emotional tension stored in the belly and chest.

Day 10:
Massage Diploma Course - Final Revision and 50-Point Assessment

The final day will involve any necessary revision and a 50-point assessment grading each student on the qualities of: empathy, communication, techniques, professionalism, correct pressure, and overall effect. Students are also evaluated on their understanding of the patient.

Before Diploma's are issued, there is 20 - 40 hours of work to do in your own time. There will be a written exam on the aspects of professional practices, such as hygiene, professional ethics, the meridians of acupressure, contraindications and the strategies of massage treatment that were covered during the course.
