The Raynor Technique of Therapeutic Massage - Certificate
Our massage school offers a very intensive massage therapy training course. In five full days of practical, 'hands-on' massage training you will learn everything you need to become an outstanding masseuse. The techniques taught are drawn from many of the world's great traditions, or created by Brandon Raynor himself.

The combination of these therapeutic massage practices work toward releasing tension in the body's muscles and opening the channels or meridians through which the chi (life force) flows.

Day 1:
Massage Theory, History and Massage Therapy Techniques and Strategies
On of the first day of the massage course, the teacher will cover subjects such as the history of massage, different types of massage, contraindications to massage, how to take a case history, hygiene, draping, professional ethics, qualities of a good massage therapist, the different types of base oils used in massage, and the properties of a good massage table.
Following the lecture, there will be a demonstration on massage procedures and strategies to loosen tension and blocked energy in the back, the back of the legs, buttocks, feet, arms, and hands. Your massage instructor will indicate the positions of the 'bands' of tension interconnecting these areas.

In the afternoon class, students will pair up and commence working on each other under the supervision of a teacher.

Day 2:
Massage Theories - Release of Tension in the Front of the Body
On Day two, the teacher will cover massage theories associated with the release of tension in the front of the body, especially the abdominal area and the head.

This session discusses how people may store emotional tension in their bellies, as common expressions suggest: 'it gave me knots in my stomach'.
Many conditions, when combined with proper breathing, can be helped by 'The Raynor Technique' which releases emotional tension stored in the abdominal area. These include, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Ulcers, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Menstrual problems, etc.

In the afternoon, following theory instruction, students practice these techniques on each other.

Days 4 and 5:
Review of Days 1 To 3 of Your Massage Education and Practical Assessment
Day four is spent combining the massage skill taught in the last three days. A complete massage is performed, examining how the tension in the muscles on the front of the body can hold the muscles on the back of the body tight.

On the afternoon of Day five, the massage instructor will
conduct a practical assessment to make sure that students understand the massage concepts taught.
Each day of the education, students are encouraged to pair up with different partners, in order to get experience working with a variety of body types.

Some revision of the previous day's massage class will also be covered, along with discussion on the concept of the release of toxins in the body and the natural therapies term the 'healing crisis' and what it means.
