Therapist's who attended one of our Adelaide Massage Courses: |

"The
course has given me the most incredible
amount of self confidence that I have
ever experienced before, for five years
ago I was told I wasn't to live, and
to meet light minded people, it overwhelms
me. Long term, I can't wait to do some
more courses."

"This
massage course is very intense and
very enriching. The highlight of the
course was when the chi started moving
through my body after I had been worked
on and the "buzzing" feeling
and realizations I got. I also loved
the feeling after doing the first
student massage in the clinic and
realizing I can touch people's lives
in this way"

| Have
a read of what one of our graduates had to say
after completing the
Brandon Raynor Massage Certificate in NSW: |
1.
Did you enjoy the Certificate Massage Course in
Adelaide?
I loved the course! It challenged me at times,
but my teachers, Trish and David, were very supportive,
and always happy to go over something that I wasn't
sure of any time. They constantly supervised our
work too, which left no margin for incorrect technique.
The way the course is run is very effective, and
I'm so glad that I did the 2 week diploma course
as I was so keen to learn more after the first
week certificate course! Confidence was built
very quickly as we were massaging on our first
day!
2. Where you already an experienced therapist
before you attended the massage training course?
I had done a basic Swedish massage course about
8 years previously, and was massaging family and
friends (for free) at times, but nothing serious.
3. When you started massaging the public
after the massage course in Adelaide, did you
feel confident?
Absolutely! The skills I learned throughout the
two week course gave me the confidence to do a
fabulous massage tailored to my client's needs,
and the basic business running skills we were
given, as well as ways to treat a client, draping
skills and the wonderful aromatherapy knowledge
made me feel that I could really do a professional
job! (and my clients agree!) The information given
in the course is very comprehensive, and is always
great to go back to for revision as well.
4. What was the response of the public,
did your clients comment on the massage?
They love all the different stretches involved,
and the different massage techniques (particularly
lomi lomi!) Some have said that they feel truly
pampered from head to toe, as the massage covers
pretty much the whole body. Most are quite hesitant
about a whole hour of massage - or an hour and
a half, and are so surprised when it is ended,
as the time has gone so quickly for them! I have
had great results from people with stiff shoulders
and necks, the stretches and massage techniques
really help there!
5. Do you insurance coverage for your
business?
No I haven't as yet, as I work by word of mouth
and am still building up a clientele. I get clients
to fill out a questionnaire about their general
health and sign it at the bottom, so I have a
really good idea of their health profile to begin
with, which helps, and if they have been ill I
suggest they check with their doctor before massage.
I also won't massage anyone that is currently
ill unless they have permission from their doctor.
I was able to get insurance if needed though,
and the components for that were the Brandon Raynor
Diploma certificate, a Senior First Aid Certificate,
and membership to INTA.
6. What are your massage rates?
I charge $50 an hour and $70 for an hour and half,
including reflexology and aromatherapy. I offer
gift certificates (which go very well) and offer
10% discount at my children's school, and my local
gym. I like donating my services for a good cause
too, I think it's great to be able to share a
skill. I've done a few Girl's Nights in (Cancer
Council), and a Fun Run where I've done foot massage
and reflexology, and donated my services, also
donated some gift certificates for raffles. It's
free advertising for me too, so it goes great
both ways!
7. What do you like best about being a
massage therapist?
It's really special to be able to make people
smile, and to help take away their aches!!! The
other biggie is that I have two children, and
I can fit my work around their schooling, holidays
etc, so less stress for me! The best of both worlds!!!!
